Devin Morgan Soccer Highlights: Watch Here

Get to know Devin

  1. Where are you from? What high school do you go to? What year in school are you?

I am from Covington, KY and have lived here my whole life.  I attend Scott High School where I am currently a senior.

  1. What do you like about ScoutForceAthlete and how has it helped you?

I like that you can use the site even if you can’t pay for the extras they offer.  I think the more exposure you can get the better it is.  The site is very user friendly and it was very simple to set up my profile page.

  1. How long have you played soccer? What position do you play? How tall are you? Weight? Mile Time?

I have been playing soccer since I was three years old.  I started playing in recreational leagues and advanced to club level at U8.  I have played every position on the field with the exception of GK.  I am most comfortable playing outside mid.  I am 5’10 and I weigh 165.  My fasted time running a mile is 5minutes 50seconds.

  1. What is your favorite thing about your sport? Why?

I love that soccer is a team sport.  I walk on that field with my brothers and we walk off as brothers whether we win or lose.

  1. Where are you playing college soccer? Why did you decide to sign there?

I have committed to play soccer for Marshall University.  After visiting several schools I really felt at home when I went to Marshall.  I like the history and school spirit that you feel on campus.  I also got along really well with the coaching staff and current players.  I really feel like Marshall is the perfect fit for me not only for athletics but also academics.

  1. What are you most excited about in playing DI college soccer in the C-USA?

I am really excited to get the opportunity to travel and play with and against some of the best players in D1 soccer.

  1. What are you goals while a student-athlete at Marshall and in the future?

My biggest goal is to compete well with my team while furthering my education and obtaining a Degree in Physical Education.  Winning a C-USA championship wouldn’t hurt either.

  1. What is your favorite thing to eat? Drink?

My go to food of choice is Chipotle. I get a steak burrito with extra everything in it.  I drink a lot of water but always try to grab a chocolate milk for post game.

  1. Do you have any pre-game rituals? If so, why do you do it?

Not really, I like to have time to just put my headphones in and listen to some good music because it helps me focus.

  1. What is your most memorable moment in sports? Why?

My most memorable moment in soccer other than committing to Marshall would be playing in the KY state finals in 2014.  I was able to score two goals in a crazy game.  Even though we lost 6-4 (the highest scoring state final in Ky history), I know I grew a great deal as a player.  I think it is easy to see the great moments in a victory but I believe you can grow more by really looking for the great moments in defeat.

  1. What do you like to do in your free time?

I am a member of an organization called Young Life.  It is a great student ministries program that has helped me develop a better relation with God and expand my faith.

  1. Who is your biggest inspiration and why?

Neymar Jr. is my biggest inspiration on the soccer pitch because I believe he is the best player in the world that plays my position.

Good Luck, Devin!
