Wednesday Wrap-Up: Goal Setting Guide

Goal Setting

No matter where you are in the recruiting process, it is important to set goals!

Follow these steps to begin the goal setting process:

Pick goal categories:

  • Example: Athletics, academics, social, recruiting, etc.

Brainstorm about each category:

  • What is ideal for my future?
  • What words come up when I think of each category?
  • Why do I care about each category?

It’s time to set your goals:

  • Think about short and long term goals.
  • Set SMART goals:

– Specific

– Measurable

– Achievable

– Realistic

– Timely

Share your goals:

  • Research shows that sharing your goals with family and friends increases the likelihood that you will achieve them!

…and remember…

“A goal without a plan is just a wish.”

-Antoine de Saint-Exupery
